Too early to tell and he still needs improvements that at his age he very well might still be peaking. He has an ATG mentality nobody can dispute his willingness to take risk to prove his quality.

One thing he's proven is that he is an elite fighter, unless you still have a sandy vagina still calling him a hypejob bringing up the fact he fought Matthew Hatton.

Can't wait to see how his career turns out from here on out. He's come a long way from that 17 year old kid fighting on Telemundo.

canelo hype man can't decisively beat any good opponents.

should have a draw against trout, got whooped by floyd, and should have a loss against lara.

can't wait until he steps up to 160 (his real weightclass) and fight and brutally lose to GGG.

GGG will bring balance to the force by KO'ing the artificial hype man canelo.

          nothing great about canelo.

if canelo wants to be elite he has to be more convincing. barely scraping by and getting gift scores doesn't scream future ATG, elite or top ten p4p.

i'm sorry but canelo is all HYPE.

Being a hype job means getting destroyed against good opponents like Broner/Maidana, Lacy/Calzaghe,Berto/Guerrero, Khan/Garcia, etc,.. Hype jobs don't beat quality opponents even if they fights are close.

Did you Canelo fans watched ESPN "A Los Golpes" last night?

They (and the crew/staff is Mexican) were not happy with his performance and out of the 4, only one gave the fight to Canelo (115/113) but also stated that it could have gone either way.

The most critical yet, very objective was Chavez Sr. who stated that Canelo did not show any improvement since the FMJr. fight.

Sr. also stated that in a Cotto vs Canelo showdown, Cotto would clearly defeat Canelo.

Chavez Jr. was there as well, and said that he will come and meet Canelo at 160lb.

The commentary was very unbiased and touched some very interesting points.

You, Canelo fans should find it and watch it.

I heard from so many people that Canelo would never fight Kirkland, the fight was made and Kirkland cancelled due to injury.

He would never fight Mayweather, yet he went 12 rounds in a boxing match against the best in the game.

He would never fight Trout, he's too big for Canelo and will show him what a real 154lber does...beat Trout.

He would never fight Lara, no way no how. He will run from Lara because he's a high risk, low reward fight. He just chased Lara around for 12 rounds and won.

Now he's an over hyped bum...lol it's amazing to me the immaturity in this place, give the man his due and he's all of 23 years old.

Canelo has all the tools, both physical and mental to be a legend.

He's only 23. Other than his questionable wins over Trout and Lara, his resume is poor.

He would be on the road to being an ATG if he cleans out 154, moves up to MW, and wins a title there.

Much like his fight with Lara there is no clear answer on what the fk he is or will be neither guy looked good, Canelo couldn't cut the ring of to save his life and landed only 15 power punches to the head in getting outlanded 5-1 there for 12 rounds. If he could keep the body pressure he did for about 2/3 rounds for 6 he could have actually chopped the tree down and really won, but instead stopped and let Lara retake control of the whole thing. I doubt he will always be able to rely on that one shady judge strategy to save him from defeat as we saw with Floyd if the opponent clearly outclasses you 1 judge shouldn't be enough.

he's hype because people think he is elite and p4p top ten. he isn't nor will he ever be ATG. just deal with that and stop dreaming about this imaginary canelo that is just bulldozing through top competition because that guy doesn't exist and never will.

he's just lucky to have corrupt judges giving him gift scores.
