I studied economics in college and i'm really interested in this:
How do they come up with projected amounts for the pot? If two fighters agree to a certain amount they are guaranteed pre-fight, would if the fight doesn't bring in as much money as anticipated? I suppose this could be combated by a percentage split, but i see money alot with the splits. It seems like the amount the fight is worth, would only show itself after the fight was over regarding PPV numbers, or even viewers on a cable network, not ppv.
Also, could someone give me a detailed account of where the money is generated from for boxing matches-it just seems like there is so much gray area between the fighter and the various parties involved profiting off him, making it likely that fighters often times don't get what they should.
I might be a noob involving this but it interests me
