I've never been a big fan of Lara. Anyone who's read my posts about him over the years knows that. But I've supported him for obvious reasons. I thought he won 115-113, but Landy really should've done more in his effort. The more I think about the outcome, the less I care. Not that I support bad decisions -- that 117-111 score was vomitus -- but Lara should've known to throw more punches with bad intentions. Shit, Gamboa earned more respect in a fight where he got KTFO. Landy might've objectively won this fight, but no one cares...even the guys who believe it.

It's hard to express how distasteful his style is without being called a hater, that's how displeasing it is to watch, only the element of surprise keeps me watching if it's live.

That's mainly why I don't want to see it again, Lara will again attempt to exploit the system, run the clock whilst looking to steal the rounds again, as a fan of Canelo's that shit was disheartening to see, again I didn't expect Lara to go to that extent but I guess I was wrong.

I immediately dismiss anybody who uses the term "hater" to describe the person they've conversing with. It's infantile horse shit. A dismissal without having to provide an actual rebuttal. Only part of the vernacular of those under the age of 18 or those suffering from severe mental deficiencies, typically both.

I can't take anybody like that seriously.

I also can't take anybody seriously who is of the opinion that you have to appreciate spoilers in order to be considered a "real boxing fan." It's absolute nonsense. There are dozens of styles of fighting in this sport, I seriously doubt that anybody appreciates all of them on the same level. Some people here really dislike power punchers (look at how much negativity Matthysse and Golovkin get), some people dislike upright European fighters (Klitschko, anybody?), some people don't enjoy watching spoilers (Lara, Hopkins, etc..), etc, etc, etc...

Nobody enjoys every style. We all have preferences.

Lara definitely wouldn't change anything in a rematch. He'd fight the same, drop another decision, and still proclaim victory.

I gave Lara the nod at the time, but I'm on the fence upon thinking it over some more. This just shows how close of a fight it was. I have no problem with people thinking Canelo won. I would have been fine with a close SD either way or a draw. 117-111 is ridiculous though, for either fighter.

I will say this though, Lara should have fought to win it. He knew he was up against a more popular fighter with a partisan crowd. He was very negative and didn't take it to Canelo. I understand his style, but there were times when he was doing nothing. Canelo was there to go to war. Lara wasn't. Again, I gave him the nod after the fight, but I don't think he has the right to complain.
