    Maidana- Boxing's Only Badass(during interviews)

In today's interview, when the guy asks Chino what he thought about Mayweather calling him a bum, Maidana goes, 'Maybe I am, and maybe I'm not. I don't care.'

    Badass.

What other fighter today can deliver a line like that? Duran would've said it just like that. I mean, NOBODY fighting today is able to talk about fighting like Marcos. I'll give you that the specter of Kovalev having killed a guy(accidentally) gives him an air of badassness(and, yes, I know it's in poor taste to say that him having killed a guy makes him badass but... it's boxing. Boxing is often in poor taste.) And GGG, Matthysse are badasses IN the ring...

    But Maidana....

He makes Floyd seem like some annoying high school kid. Years and years now Floyd has had the mic and he has been unable to say a single memorable or funny thing. Floyd might be the world's best fighter. But his words sound so hollow. His comedy is so forced. Larry Bird, Magic, Barkley, Ali(almost any famous athlete that comes to my mind free associating) would so effortlessly make you laugh saying almost anything.

Floyd the fighter: incredible. Floyd the talker: weak.

What about Marcos saying(in Spanish)'I don't give a #### about this guy.' What a moment! It was the timing of him saying it. And he made Garcia and Ellerbe laugh at the same time! Both of them were taken by surprise.

Now, if Floyd were able to stop Maidana this time... maybe it could give him an opportunity to say something with a bit more... something. Gravitas? Levity? He always sounds profoundly unhappy to me when he's talking. Of course, he never seems unhappy in the ring.

It's just Floyd the talker that needs to retire.

I don't like hearing him talk either. But ultimately he does his talking in the ring. So wether he's charismatic enough or not he gets the job done inside the squared curcle

Now, it must be remembered that through thick and thin, I am still a member of the Mayweather Mafia, but let's be real here. This is a great post. I agree 100%. And Maidana is absolutely a unique badass inside and outside the ring. He fears no one and respects no opponent, and how he still gets so much hate and not all kinds of fans, it's crazy. Especially when in the ring he is such and exciting fighter, he is never in a boring fight. Just goes to show you that so many around here just troll and don't even pay attention to the sport. How could anyone not be a fan of Maidana? It just blows my mind.

Lets not forget that badass comment he made at the cookout at Garcias house, when they were saying that after mayweather they were gonna go after pacquiao, and asked about what he thought about PAC and his mom...

Maidana simply replies "Not even witchcraft can save him from me" or something or other, that was badass

Seeing how he still hasn't fought Keith Thurman yet, I can't really consider him a badass.

The best part of the press conference today was the post interviews where the interviewer (black dude dont know his name) asked Maidana What you think about him wanting to bet you your purse on this fight. Madiana answered I dont care, its nothing to me but he (mayweather) wont even let me wear my gloves and he gonan do a bunch of other things to not make it a fair fight. If he lets me wear my gloves and doesnt put these other obstacles in the way their is no problem we CAN BET IT.

It helps that Maidana doesn't understand a word of what Floyd says, Floyd can't get into Maidana's head. To Maidana he's just some over-excitable foreign guy running his mouth.

                    don't forget this one:

"I know he is the favorite. But I don't care. I've crossed paths with lions. He still hasn't fought with men. He hasn't beat anyone yet to be a star. The cow has messed with the bull."
