  • Comments Thread For: Froch: There is No Reason DeGale Fight Can't Happen!

IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs) sees no reason as to why a potential fight with James DeGale can't happen. DeGale (19-1, 13KOs), a 2008 Olympic gold medal winner, became Froch's IBF mandatory challenger with a fourth round stoppage of Brandon Gonzales in May before 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. In the main event of that card, Froch knocked out George Groves.

Of course why not. Another domestic tussle with wembley stadium full up and then getting paid nicely.

Froch/DeGale can fill a stadium. Not anything near a Wembley though. I think if it happens it will 150% happen at Nottingham Forrest's stadium. Froch has said along with a Vegas fight he wanted one there. 30K is the perfect number for Froch/Degale not too many or not enough seats. Just about right.

October/November is too late in the year for an outdoor event, though, unless it's the Millennium Stadium... They might as well go for the MEN arena.

I agree. City Ground would be perfect for this fight, and would enable Froch to tick a box, though I'm sure he'd rather face a less awkward opponent than DeGale for the City Ground fight. Not that I think he'd swerve it. City Ground would be electric for this one, actually - would definitely try and nab a ticket for it.
