Lucas Matthysse has been looking for a rematch with Danny García ever since his points decision loss to the Philadelphian last September, that however looks unlikely to happen anytime in the near future.

As BoxingScene reported earlier, more than one name is being discussed for the Argentine with Michael ‘The Artist’ Pérez in the frame. Nevertheless, another opponent could possibly be the current WBC Silver champion, Roberto ‘Massa’ Ortíz.

A source with knowledge of the negotiations confirms that Ortiz and Perez are both in the running for Matthysse's next outing on September 6th.

Hes not doing it anymore becoz the wrong person keeps winning both maidana and garcia were underdogs and they came through. Berto got smashed by soto etc.
