It doesn't matter if he your an average joe with an 1000 dollar surgery compared to a James Toney with a 2000 dollar surgery and access to top notch medical treatment, the fact still remains that it is hard for ANYONE to overcome.
Not true. James Toney has magical powers. He can overcome anything.

Toney is the man, I'll give him that.

It's very true, most people never recover 100% after an ACL tear. Any tear of the ligaments, MCL, ACL, etc. just don't regain 100% ability. Everyone I've known whose torn it has said it's one of the most painful experiences ever.
It ****in stings. Actually, when it initially happens, it doesn't really hurt. When you tear your achilles, you hear a loud pop and it feels like someone threw a rock or tennis ball at your achilles. The worst feeling is when you're in a cast. When the tendon is healing, it feels like someone is grinding away at it with a saw. I only post my concern about Toney because I've gone through the injury and have seen pro atheletes never return to where they where before they suffered it.

I don't think it's a big issue for Toney, because he's relativly flat footed in the ring and paces and stalks.
If he was big on footwork he'd have more trouble, but as it is I think he'll be okay.

I have had leg troubles b4 and have competed in the ams........believe me it will effect Toney........He cant plant himself as much as he would like to on his feet.......cant drive his punches, fancy footwork hurts......running and hitting bags is painfull becuase your legs arent 100%, this is how is was for me.........trust me....a boxers legs are VERY important .....more then his arms in some ways in terms of power!

He's had two fights since coming back from the injury, and has said it doesn't bother him.
He was throwing 70 -80 punches agaisnt Guinn in the championship rounds of that fight, digging and planting his feet.
And like I said earlier, he doesn't have fancy footwork. He walks around the ring with little effort.
It's not a factor for him, and it happned two years ago.
