in short. almost equal. lara landed 10 more. but alvarez threw about 31 more

um what? first of all higher connect percentage is often the opposite means your fighter did worse because he threw far less punches and was not the aggressor. Secondly as someone else stated a large part of Lara's punches were jabs not power shots

Fights are scored round by round, not by the total number of punches landed.

no one is saying this should be scored based on punchstats. It's just an interesting statistic to examine.

That doesnt matter at all... Dude can pity patter all night long, hard shots are what counts... Same thing in the pauli-broner fight...

Canelo was killing that body..

If lara was really doing damage to canelo, he would have been busted up, bleeding from the nose and mouth from the jab, but you saw none of that..
Canelo walked thru every shot.. Never saw him buckle, back away, etc..

Look at oscars face after the ike fight,, thats what a jab is suppose to do

Look at the punch stats for mayweather v Castillo , **** happens, I think Alvarez deserved it on pressure. Definately think that cut was a big turning point,
