Lara left a lot of rounds where you are like "Well he won that round, but they judges are giving that one to canelo". Which really leaves you with a sick feeling in your stomach.

This same thing you said is the same thing everyone in the sport I talked to said leading up to the fight.

Canelo can win by ko, but if it goes 12, Lara wins but they give it to Canelo.

but here is the thing most have Canelo wining I thougth Canelo won they didn't have to give him anything to night

I had Lara winning at least 7 rounds, but he allowed them to be close enough that the judges could give them to Canelo without raising too many eyebrows.

Floyd spanked Canelo and only got a SD, beating him in a close fight won't get you the decision.

I can see it 7-5 either way. Anything else is stretching it. I personally scored it for Canelo.
