What bugs me are so many saying Lara won due to "Ring Generalship" Ring Generalship is not just moving your legs faster, it is who is dictating a fight and controlling the rhythm regardless of moving forward, or on the back foot. Lara so many times gave rounds away simply for retreating and doing nothing else. That is not ring generalship. Movement is supposed to have meaning behind it, not just avoid confrontation. Lara could have won this fight, all he had to do is move to turn Canelo and punch, instead of making Canelo chase him. If you move so much that it even shuts down your own offense it is NEGATIVE!
Lara Robbed!!!!

Calling this a robbery is as bad as saying it was 117-111. This fight was as close as it gets, no one could have been robbed in this one. I scored it 114-114 and genuinely had no clue who the judges would favor. I preferred Canelo's style but could see the spots where Lara was effective. 2 of the scorecards were very respectable, 1 ****** and ultimately a split decision for Canelo is fair enough for me.
Lara could have taken this if he would have thrown some punches in the middle rounds. I gave him 4 of the first 6 and then he didn't really pick it up again until the 10th and 11th.Comment

It was a close fight, 117-111 is an awful card but get over it, either one could have won.Comment
