What would NSB have to say about Ali if he were an active fighter today?

Featherfisted runner and hugger completely encapsulates the style that was Muhammad Ali.

That style has been completely superceded these days so no HW boxer would probably ever make it far enough to be recognised.

Assuming he did, and fought WK..

Fans would be absolutely furious that WK chose to defend his title against such a feeble, weak and mismatched opponent... Fact! They would say that WK is a cherry picker and this era is rubbish.

Also Ali was a full blown racist and abuser of women and also suffered from delusional mental problems (precursor to his later illness)...

He would likely be locked up before even thinking of a boxing career.

He might have done well at CW...

He would have been a good amateur boxer...

He would have been used as a sparring partner for proper HW's so they can become accustomed to faster opponents.

He would have been a decent journeyman at HW.

Ali and Floyd would he the two most hated men in the sport. If Floyd gets to people I could only imagine how people would feel about Ali.

Its insane that people think Ali had cat like reflexes?
All he did was back pedal in his prime years then when he came out of prison gained the weight he just plodded forward in flat footed fashion and allowed his opponent to tire himself out on punching him :/ Muhammered Ali.

There is plenty of boxers in todays era and I'm not talking about heavyweights that box by far better than Ali.
Solis is a much better schooled boxer, he is just lazy if he trained properly like Haye said he could of probably done something in the division.

If a young Foreman couldn't knock him out, I can't see Wladimir doing it. Granted, Foreman fought a very ****** fight which caused him to gas out by the 6th round and he didn't have Wlad's boxing ability. But he was a master destroyer who would likely walk through most heavyweights. Ali was something special, and saying Wlad couldn't beat him is not at all an insult to him.

1974 George Foreman didn't even know how to box!

WK would never be allowed to face an opponent like Ali today and no fans would ever want to see WK knock out an opponent like that.

              And yes Cyclone...

              It's all there on film..

It was backpedal in the B&W days... Then flat foot plodding, face first catching in the Colour dawn.

That sort of **** would not cut the mustard today.

That style is only effective if your opponents are weak!

Why do you think Foreman mentioned something about being poisoned that fight?
Foreman is a very honest man who calls it down the line, If you were to ask me whos word I'd go on when its Dundee/Ali and Foreman...
I'd listen to big George any day of the week over Dundee and Ali who have both been known to do very controversial things in the ring.

I'm liking how the sanctioning bodies are forcing him to fight the best contenders now.

Very few fighters have fought the #1 and #2 contenders in their division, he deserves credit for it.

If only they would keep doing it, we could see Wlad-Fury and Wlad-Stiverne, he could build one of the best records in boxing.

Instead Boente will push him down the business path, and he'll be back fighting cans before long.

The George Foreman rematch was the only fight Ali ever ducked...

Nobody in their right mind would ever bet against Foreman in a rematch, Ali knew he couldn't beat him again.

Probably was drugged. Ali and Dundee were absolute crooks with influences beyond the usual boxers arsenal.

How else does a pretty limited fighter like Ali manage to sustain such a career?

What proof is there that he was poisoned? When you try to rip someone's head off with every punch you throw and miss a lot of them, you're bound to run out of gas. Foreman had the physical tools to beat that version of Ali, just not the discipline or the smarts.
