You said this is for 154, yet it's being held at 155 which is MW. So how can this be a fight to determine who's the best JMW when it's actually at MW?

Because there are men taller/longer, stronger and much better conditioned at 160 who will probably quickly dispel any notion that Canelo is a world class fighter.

Canelo is a good fighter who has, like a lot of other fighters today, adopted the strategy of dropping a lot of weight so that he can fight 1-2 weight classes below where he naturally belongs.

The good news is that Canelo's frame and age won't allow him to do this forever so we'll eventually get to see how he fares against opponents in an appropriate weight class.
