Lacy's gonna pull it off, but a loss would hurt his chances at ever getting the really big money fights. I can't see Lacy losing, other than a controversial decision. I'm not counting Calzaghe out, and I think it could be a close fight, but I think "Left Hook" will rise to the occasion. If Calzaghe wins, however, it would cement him as a great champ. The lack of competition will not be as strong an argument at that point.
What happens if Lacy looses?

Lacy won't beat a decent, natural SMW. Guys like Froch and Brahmer, Brahmer especially. Even this American dude Bute.
Lacy is a very poor fighter with a decently powerful punch.Comment

I think that would really be a career breaker of sorts, because it doesn't get any better than Calzaghe. Calzaghe is an undefeated well-known champion who everyone gives props to even though he isn't and never was all that good. If you've been on Showtime for 10 years, you're probably not all that great. This is Lacy's biggest and best opportunity to be a superstar in the sport, however he would need to KO Taylor or Tarver to be a mainstream superstar like an Oscar De La Hoya or a Mike Tyson. He's gotta keep knocking people out and be dominant to be a crossover superstar.Comment
