Comments Thread For: Lara's Trainer: We Beat 'Beast' Angulo, Canelo Did Not

As the big fight approaches on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, most experts are fixated on the two common opponents for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (43-1-1, 31KOs) and Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12KOs). They will collide on Showtime Pay-Per-View in a bout scheduled for a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

Last June, Lara survived a grueling war, and two knockdowns, to stop Alfredo Angulo in the tenth round. This past March, Canelo easily dominated Angulo for his own tenth round TKO win. Last April, Canelo struggled to win a twelve round decision over Austin Trout. Later that year, in December, Lara easily outboxed Trout for a unanimous decision win.

Oh how I love these impossible-to-prove-or-disprove statements...

The fight is a day away, the time for comparison shopping is over. Who cares what happened with Angulo or Trout? All that matters is what happens this Saturday.

He is supposed to be biased, but honestly Canelo is faster than he just has stamina issues - the fight against trout - Canelo took that 0 away , its hard to snatch that 0 - and trout conceded that he lost that fight, but Lara did beat Trout better. I give Canelo his due, he has been fighting the right fights to prepare him for this battle, What really gets to me is that pwople think this kid was coddled his whole career - this dude turned pro at 15 that is 8th grade or your freshman year in high school - so he was fighting grown men - he built his brand from shyt, he has earned everything - Floyd already gave him the stamp, this is why he fought Canelo 2 fights ago, instead of his next fight or his final 2- think about that... floyd stated that it would be smarter to face Canelo now than a year or so down the line because he would be alittle too much for him at 38 years old, not that he could not pull it off, but the risk would be far too greater - floyd fought Canelo at 154 on fight night Canelo came in at 170 too big

Doesn't matter, Angulo won't be across from you Saturday night. We'll find out who is the best then.

Lol, how many times was Lara dropped by Angulo? Twice?

He shows real weakness on the inside, relying on his ear muffs and little to no movement. He beat him by breaking his face, but he showed the blueprint on how to beat himself.
