Former two-division champion Juan Manuel Lopez resurrected his career with a 2nd round stoppage of Daniel Ponce De Leon in March. Lopez hit the deck early in the second round but was able to rebound and catch and finish off his opponent moments later.

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican moved up to the super featherweight division for the fight and said that he feels a lot better at the higher weight.

"I feel a lot better at 130 pounds. I don't have any problems making this weight. I feel a lot stronger," Lopez told BoxingScene.com.

Juanma is no longer a favorite I see. Idol worshipers! This is the type of fight Juanma can win, he's done it before. Vargas is the one that has to up his game. Lopez has KOd guys better than anybody Vargas ever fought. A good night for Juanma and Vargas is in deep trouble.

It is true. Lopez has 37 fights and he has hold titles in 2 divisions and of course has faced better opponents. Vargas has only 20 fights (almost half of Lopez) and his % of KO is much lower than the P. Rican fighter. I would give advantage to Lopez despite his inconsistency of the last 3 years.
