There was really a short list to choose from.
Algieri, Abregu (no notable wins lately), Amir Khan, JMM (doesn't want to go to Macau), Guerrero, Thurman

PAC's list was short... and out of Abregu, Khan, Guerrero,...Algieri had the best win lately.

Not saying this is a great fight, but really what other options were there?
Floyd list is shorter!! He got only Maidana again! Why you guys complain too much?

It can only hope that he's offering Algeri so that there's a backlash (there is) and he (arum) can look like a hero when he throws PAC in with another bum...

Arum, you're not going to be making much money from this fight.

That's why it is a good storyline, it's not different than the movie. At the end of the day the only people I know of that don't watch boxing are white people. All my hispanics friends do, all my black friends, even my asian friends there simply aren't any white guys in boxing they are all in UFC (for some ****ing reason, IDK.)

Anyway, my point is this guy will sell simply because he is well educated and white, nothing more. The casual fan will eat this fight up, and it will sell like crazy. At first I thought this fight will flop, but Algieri is a good looking guy and speaks english that will go a long, long way. I can promise you this fight will sell more than Ruslan would have facing Manny, no way to compare but just off the their marketability. One guy is a pretty boy who speaks english, the other guy is an ugly mother ****er who can't speak a lick of it.

“He’s definitely an option because there’s a great storyline,” Arum told BoxingScene.com. “You know, a college kid who has a masters degree [from New York Institute of Technology], a superb boxer, speaks well. He has all the elements to make an interesting match for Manny Pacquiao both inside and outside the ring. So sure, we’re considering it.” [Click Here To Read More]
So laughable hahaha there is no "Storyline" between these two... This is a crock of ****!! Chris is taking chump change for this fight, and will likely get a solid beating for it... Sad, f'ing sad how much money the dudes at the top of this sport are unbelievably greedy...

The ONLY fight mayweather and PAC should be in are against each other. Either of the them fighting anybody else is just a slap in the face to boxing fans.

Who can either of them fight that wouldn't be considered a **** fight?

                Amir khan? Shawn porter? Thurman?

None of them have the credentials at this point to be considered a good fight against floyd or manny.

That's what they said when PAC - De La Joto was announced. Hell, no one even knew who PAC was when he demolished Barrera. On paper I agree, f**k this fight. But, Algieri is deserving of it!
