What if Deion Sanders took up boxing in the 90's? Would he have made it? Remember that he played both baseball and football, so he was very athletic.

Impossible to know how he hits or takes a hit, but Deion had a lot of qualities that would translate to boxing.Comment

Considering he didn't even like tackling, I'd imagine he would enjoy getting hit in the face far less.Comment

Just because you are athletic does not mean you have the heart or mental toughness to box...why do people assume anyone can enter the ring and be successful?Comment

I remember watching Deion get into a slapping contest with Andre Rison, while they still had their helmets on. It was embarrassing, and nothing much to be afraid of. He'd get sparked out.Comment

It's impossible to tell but hypothetically speaking he was both athletic and unnaturally strong. I don't even think he worked out regularly and he was built like a tank.
He was a rb so we know he had good foot technique which could transition to boxing. I would imagine he would've been a big puncher due to his natural strength. Being a big league hitter requires proper balance as well so that would also help the transition.
Obviously this is far fetched and based on assumptions for all we know he could have a glass jaw.Comment
