Mendez's chin always fails him late in the fights. Even when he's not stoppped, he gets hurt.

I agree. Let's see if he beats Gamboa, now that Yuri is coming down to 130.

That would require for Mikey to get in the ring with Gamboa first.

In all fairness, Mikey is now embroiled in basically the same legal battle Gamboa experienced a few years ago. It could damage his career, just like it did Yuri's. By the time it's all over, Garcia might be actively seeking a fight with Gamboa.

I think he will have a harder time with Barthelemy, he is a 6' tall JLW with a long reach and hits very hard and can also box... If they fight now mikey has the edge in a few fights more my boy from Poey will spark ga rcia.

Let's see how he looks against Mendez again first. If it's anything like the first time, I might agree with you. Rances definitely packed dynamite in that first fight.

I think Mendez had trouble making weight last time, that's why he was getting hurt. He is a huge super featherweight yet he was 128.5 at the weigh-in. He must have weakened his body cutting too much weight. This time he came in at 129.8. Barthelemy can punch a little, but he's not a big puncher, and Mendez had at least shown a decent chin in the past. I'm not 100% sure, but I think something was off with Mendez that night.

I expect this rematch to go the distance. Barthelemy needs to stay on the outside, use his jab and let Mendez initiate the actions. Mendez is not comfortable when he has to come forward.

Immediately after the fight, the rumor circulated that Mendez was weakened by making the weight. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me. I agree that Bart can punch, but I've never seen him hit so hard...or appear to hit so hard. He was smacking Mendez good. We'll see if there was any truth to the rumor tomorrow night.
