Call me crazy but here goes and this is based on a deep discussion I just had with a few fellow boxing fans:

Mayweather: "I got a big surprise for ya'll May 2015"

at the time the names being floated for Pacquaio are Guerrero, JMM, Khan, etc.

Khan: "I can't fight due to Ramadan but Pacquaio can get it in November"

at the time we thing Floyd vs Khan is due to happen in 2015 if Floyd is keeping his word to Khan. The sudden change in Khan going from Mayweather..mayweather..mayweather...to pacquaio, pacquaio, pacquaio sounds like perhaps something has changed.

Anyone else notice Roach has been quiet as fkkkk about Pacquaio's next oppnonent since Floyd dropped the "got a big surprise for ya'll" tweet. Arum has absolutely stopped mentioning Floyd. Oscar has been making up with Floyd via the media. The Maidana rematch being announced so fast and everyone feeling like Floyd will have an easier fight the second go round. Now we get Pacquaio facing Algieri.

My conclusion: I know we've fallen for this before but both guys are hurting in regards to numbers of ppv's. Floyd has a lot of overhead and it's costing Showtime a ton of money. Pacquaio just got a contract guaranteeing him 30 million a fight minimum. Maidana and Algieri are not opponents who will really send sales into the stratosphere so in my opinion each guy needs a huge opponent for their next fight. There is nobody left...literally nobody left that the networks can figure squeezing these fighters fees from. I think MGM May 2015 it's going down 6 years too late. I doubt Canelo and Cotto fight Floyd again, they'd make more money fighting each other and splitting it down the middle.

I think and sure that Algirie vs Pacquiao is a non sense fight. and i'm sure that this is the continuation of a down fall of a PPV record of Pacquiao.

The rest of your theory is plausible but on this you are incorrect. They would each still make more against Floyd than against anybody else.

Canelo is a fledgling ppv attraction and Cotto's last pay per view did very disappointing numbers.

I wouldnt mind this at 140...it would at least have some significance in showing how well Pacquiao is able to move back down, and have two titles in two divisions as Floyd does

At 147 its a joke really

Pac doesn't even have the time to train for this.

He is busy forming his pro basketball team and the tournament will start on October. He is the playing coach.

Maybe the reason for picking Chris.

This fight sucks, out of all the welterweight fighters- this guy, he's not even a welterweight.?????? I wouldn't be surprised if algieri boxed pacmans ears off. He's got the type of style and size that might give Manny problems at his age. Pacman is old now.

I think pacquiao wants to retire, but he's hanging around long enough till his condition deteriorates so mayweather will want to fight him when he's washed up. Resulting in a career high pay day.

I thought this was a hilarious April fools joke, then I looked at my calendar and it's f_c_ing July......WTF is going on, is this fight gonna be on ESPN?
                    Algeri ??????????? GTFOHw/tBS

If you try and justify this fight then you definitely have Mannys balls on your chin, and those aren't called chin nuts, that's called a D_ck in ya mouth!!!!!!
