Comments Thread For: Geale: I’ll Prove Doubters Wrong Against Golovkin

Daniel Geale is a former middleweight titleholder whose only losses have come via split decisions. Yet he knows that people don’t believe he’ll beat titleholder Gennady Golovkin when they fight July 26 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

    He doesn’t mind.

“I like being in the underdog position. I believe I’ve been in the underdog position many times in my career. I thrive on that,” Geale told BoxingScene.com last month. “I like people telling me that I’m not going to win. I like people saying, ‘You haven’t got a chance.’ That’s when I go out there and prove them wrong.” [Click Here To Read More]

No you chave no Chance Geale. This is a miss-match. Golovkin is better than anyone you fought before, even those you lost to. It will be the first time you getting knocked out my friend.

Geale has beat Sturm. Who exactly has GGG beat?

Don't get me wrong, I probably favour GGG to win, but this is Golovkin's best opponent, by some distance. Try and have some objectivity here, this is a very good fight and it's nowhere near being a mismatch. Geale is a top 5 Middleweight in my book.

I agree. Though I think Geale and Macklin are comparable to each other. Geale is better.

Adama is comparable. Geale didn't dominate him. It was a 116-112 type fight.

But I do think Geale is top 5 and will present a challenge

            This.

How many tko's has GGG had littered through his KO run ? GGG if by some stroke of luck manages to stop Geale I would be shocked.how does this guy even do in the championship rounds, does he have the conditioning and mentality to see out the final two rounds in a closing out manner,as opposed to the referee closing the show like they have in many of his recent fights.

GGG is fighting a legit 160 former champ, this isn't no blown up junior who couldn't even win a title at Jr ! Here we have a guy who could very well mix it and give a good account of himself at 168,certainly not a champion but with guys like Groves and Abraham around he could easily pick up a title.

Lets try not to get too carried away with a guy who has genuinely beaten nobody yet.ive heard guys saying GGG would ko Kessler, nsb huh !!!

Speaks levels about Golovkin when an opponent who has achieved more in the division is considered a mismatch.

Love it when people say Geale is a bum/mismatch to GGG.... basically praising him and his godlike abilities
