Handlers for unbeaten bantamweight contender Randy Caballero hope to have an opponent selected for his future vacant title fight by sometime next week. It will take that long, only because they can’t begin until Monday.

Yes, hence the search to begin on Monday, when the new ratings come out. From there, the IBF will begin ordering fights. If contenders refuse, they go down the list until someone accepts.

That said, it's still up to Golden Boy to secure the rights to the fight prior to going to purse bid. If a fight is ordered on July 7 and winds up going to purse bid 30 days later (Aug 5), that kills their chances of staging the fight in August in California.

The goal is to secure the highest ranked available contender and begin promoting ASAP.
