i'll also add that cotto has been dropped at 140, 147 lbs. he didn't get dropped at 154, but his opponents were mostly light punching. golovkin, according to many different sources, has never been down in a 300 fight amateur career, or as a pro.

He took flush left hooks from Curtis Stevens, I think it's fair to say he has a great chin. I wouldn't say Cotto is a better boxer, although he's much more proven obviously.
