I'm a big fan of Danny, but these recent opponents: Herrera, Salka, and Bracero have me pondering if Matthysse took something from Danny. Even after a win a fighter takes a toll on their body and they can lose something. Angel Garcia has said it before "we don't choose our fights we let destiny handle it, cuz when u choose u can lose. Look what happened to Ortiz against Josesito." The Garcia camp is choosing these opponents for a reason. I think there's something that happened after that Matthysse fight that made them not wanna take risks. Perhaps they want to keep Danny active and out of harm before they get a Mayweather fight. The most logical and acceptable opponent for Danny would have been Peterson. Even though Peterson got KO'd by Matthysse we all know fighters can have a bad night and styles make fights.Comment

WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (28-0, 16KOs) advised BoxingScene.com that he didn't know the details as to why Gabe Bracero (23-1, 4KOs) was replaced by Rod Salka (19-3, 3KOs) for the August 9th Showtime televised main event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Garcia says he agreed to face Bracero on the date, but then the fight never materialized and he was offered Salka instead.
Although Bracero was viewed as a step down from Garcia's recent run of opponents, he was tabbed by most as being more of a worthy candidate than Salka for a variety of reasons.
