Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs on Situation With Peter Quillin Fight

New York boxing fans have been asking for a hometown collision between two of the top boxers at 160-pounds, WBO champion Peter Quillin (31-0, 22KOs) and highly ranked contender Daniel Jacobs (27-1, 24KOs).

Jacobs has been asking for the fight and Quillin has told him to work his way up in order to earn that shot. Both boxers are managed by Al Haymon and fight under the Golden Boy Promotions banner.

On August 9th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Jacobs will face Jarrod Fletcher of Australia for the vacant WBA "regular" middleweight title. The main WBA champion is Gennady Golovkin.

Jacobs has to work his way up just like the boxing greats Konancy and Fernando did

Even Matthew Macklin can beat Peter Quillin. I'd prefer Andy Lee though, so he can finally get his title chance against a guy who shouldn't belong 3 weight classes above.

I hope Golovkin flattens them both out.

I used to see promise in Quillin two to three years ago. I haven't seen any growth in his fight game. It's like he's stuck in quick sand. No real improvement. He's holding on to that WBO strap harder than they way I hold my ****. K9 holding his IBF title hostage thinks Quillin is over doing it. Get him his payday so he can surrender his title and be done with him.

Because Quillin wants to milk the only thing making him relevant

Quillen was getting backed up by Rosado. Imagine what GGG would do to him.
