The July 12 bantamweight title fight between Tomoki Kameda and Pungluang Sor Singyu now has a televised home. The bout is scheduled for the undercard of the upcoming non-title fight showdown between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Erislandy Lara, which headlines live on pay-per-view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas
Prior to the a la carte event, Showtime has announced that the bantamweight title fight will air live on its flagship network as part of its “Countdown to Canelo-Lara” special.
“Our ‘Countdown’ show airs live 7:30pm ET live from the MGM Grand. It will include a live championship fight, the WBO bantamweight championship fight,” confirmed Chris DeBlasio, Showtime Vice President of Programming during a recent conference call to promote the pay-per-view event.
