Sure, sure. If this is what you call 'busted up'.
And please stop the 'sparring gloves rant'. 8oz gloves are not sparring gloves.Last edited by Main Source; 07-01-2014, 11:12 PM.Comment

Maidana's best rounds were the first 5 or so. Yet 2 of the 3 judges had him losing at that point. Not sure what they were watching. Only 1 judge was watching the right fight.
If the judges score fight #2 the same way, Maidana will have little chance unless he KOs Floyd or knocks him down 3-4 times!

Maidana should ask for huge money and his gloves.. He really has a lot of leverage since it's already July and Floyd has no opponent for sept and he really doesn't have any options besides Maidana..
Khan has Ramadan
Porter is fighting brook
No manny
Thurman isn't a draw
Cotto will probably be next May
Danny has a fight in august
There really isn't anyone for floyd to fight except for Maidana.. If I'm chino I'm asking for the moon.. Who else is Floyd gonna fightComment

I pointed out the left hook. But overhand rights and jabs were landing. We all know about the first half, but Maidana had some success against Floyd in the latter half of the fight. Round 8. Rounds 11 and 12. Even round 6 and 7 were accentuated by a strong Maidana jab and uppercut to the gut, respectively. You can pretend Mayweather wasn't hit all you want, doesn't make it the slightest bit true.
Maidana will improve because he learns from his losses. Point blank. Against Devon he laid in the clinch, and every fight thereafter he has been a bull there.
Yes the plan was to smother and maul Floyd, and should still be, but he should also throw in volume in other areas besides on the ropes. Combinations are the way to go if you are fighting a guy like Floyd, because you can use them to set up the more powerful significant shots, and odds go up of landing on an elusive target by throwing combinations. Also you are more likely to just make Floyd shell up and lower his output. Win, win. Maidana did not throw all that much in combination in the center of the ring, he landed one shot at a time. A jab, an overhand right, an uppercut, ect. He needs to put them together.. Like say a lunging right uppercut to the body similar to the one he landed followed by a left hook, right hand.. Then left uppercut or jab. He IS capable of doing this. Observe how he took Broner out in the second knockdown of their fight.. A left, right to the body, left combo.
I am not fantasizing. Maidana has proven he is a worthy competitor and surprised many people.... I was one of the voices of reason throughout the whole buildup to the first fight while plebes like you were predicting a 120-108 fight. Now y'all just content yourselves with damage control, trying to minimalize Maidana's first performance and overall quality as a fighter in every way you can fathom with your limited intellects.Comment

Maidana didn't land nearly as much as your kind likes to believe. And Floyd rolled with most of his "connects." On the flipside, when Floyd landed, Maidana's head was snapping back. And you totally disregard Floyd's bodywork. Which was equal to, maybe even better than Chino's.Comment

It amazes me how folks either don't notice, or notice and simply ignore the work Floyd does when he's pinned against the ropes. Maybe people get excited because his opponent is doing a lotta throwing and missing. It's a common theme in Floyd's so called close calls.Comment

Yeah, Floyd and James toney both do their best work when they are in that position.. Both have the insane ability to keep totally focused on opponent and never panic or lose their cool...Comment
