Not only that, the first time they fought, Mayweather had 5 months to prepare for Maidana, being that he knew Maidana was his opponent after the broner fight... He waited till the very end to tell Maidana he was the opponent so that way Maidana barely had 8 weeks to train for the fight... I mean come on.. If you have 5 months to prepare for a fight and the other guy has 2 months and you still can't wash him out of the ocean... enuff said EOF

Mayweather is a coward. Ducked a prime cotto, a body punching machine cotto that was 31-0 and just beat mosley and month before when he "retired" after the ricky hatton fight. Fought an out of shape de la hoya instead of margarito (at the time the handwraps were not known). Fought a "fat" and out of shape JMM who never fought in that weight before that fight (JMM had to move up TWO weight classes for that fight).

I never miss a Floyd fight but this is a bit underwhelming to say the least, Maidana didn't do enough outside of fighting dirty like no one else to warrant a rematch imo. We have seen nothing to make us think anything other than another decision win for Floyd. You have 3 fights left and you give Maidana a rematch? Beating Maidana the 1st time didn't do much for his legacy what will beating him again prove???

Why do people want to see Floyd against Cotto again? Just so he can go up and grab a belt? One that should really belong to GGG if there was justice in boxing and the best had to face the best in their respected division. Cotto won 2-3 rounds while Maidana won 4-5 and a few people even think he pulled it off. Nobody believes that Cotto won the fight. Maidana rematch > Cotto rematch.

please learn that styles makes fights. Cotto wasnt the body hooking machine he was at 140-147 by the time he fought mayweather. Different trainer, different style of fighting. Gave up his hook for a jab and being more defensive.

It seems mighty late in the game to announce a September rematch. It could be a promotional nightmare. And when will training camp start? The only good thing about this from a promotional standpoint, is the public has seen the first fight and may be interested in a rematch without heavy promoting. Of course, there are those who think this will just be another stick and move boxing exhibition from Mayweather. Will I pay another $75 for that? Uh, NO!!

I'm sick of people talking g about these gloves! Those first gloves Maidana a tried to use were almost bare knuckle that's pure ****ery why don't one of you that thinks it's fine try to take a punch to the back of the head from a puncher with those on, I say back of the head cuz that's where he mostly connected. That was the first time I have ever seen floyd make an issue about gloves, Robert garcia is a ****inn cheat to even try to bring those to the table! Rematch floyd wins again much easier!

Actually there is something wrong with it. It further tarnishes Floyd's legacy. Floyd is already considered (and even more so outside of the U.S.) as a guy who does anything he can to remain "undefeated" (even though that has never mattered in boxing history nor did he really beat Castillo in the first fight). Floyd is known as a guy that will avoid fights and use his bargaining leverage to gain advantages over his opponents. This all goes to the reputation Floyd has around the globe as a guy who does not fight the best opponents at their best.

Coming in overweight against Marquez and the glove issue with Maidana are very well on record as more evidence that Floyd goes out of his way to find an unfair advantage when he fights.
