Comments Thread For: Lara: I Guarantee That I Will Bust Canelo's Mouth!

WBA 'regular' junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12KOs) believes he would have never received the opportunity to face Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (43-1-1, 31KOs) without initiated their confrontation in March.

After Canelo stopped Alfredo Angulo at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Lara confronted him at the post-fight press conference and demanded a fight.

"No, 100% I wouldn't get the fight without calling him out. If he wants to demonstrate that he's the best at 154, he has to fight the best," Lara said.

Just wondering whether Lara will fight Mayweather on September 13 since all of Mayweather's titles will be at stake or will Mayweather fight Cotto?

      And the shit-talk continues. lol

This fight is gonna be big. Lara may not have a fanbase, but his quality and the constant verbal jabbing will bring much interest.

Uhm...dont know how big the possibility will be that Lara fights 2 months after his last fight...BUT if Lara would get an offer (which is very unlikely) i think he would take it...in Cuba he was in the gym 365/24/7 so that wouldnt be that much of a problem...the problem is Mayweather would never ever fight Lara man...

I doubt he fights Floyd two months after if he beats Canelo. Lara would have to make easy work of Ginger and not have taken any type of punishment. Don't see that happening. He might win but it's gonna be fight.

I dont disagree but if you got a option to an career-highpayday that eventually will never come back again i cant imagine too many people that would refuse it...but in the end we dont need the discussion no more cause there is already a thread with video-evidence from Floyd himself that he will fight Maidana again in September

I don't think the weight is the main issue. I think the 155lb was so it wouldn't be a Title fight. And the reason you don't want a title fight in Canelo's camp. Is because, If you fight for a title and you lose there is no chance for a rematch, being that Lara is the champ with the belt and Canelo is coming in with nothing. If you don't fight for a title, then a rematch clause can be in the contract being that it will now be just a regular match. I mean when have you ever seen someone challenge a champion for his belt, lose and then get a rematch.. Like why would a champion have to defend his title twice against a normal opponent whom he just beat.. Giving someone 2 chances to take a belt from you doesn't sound right... So maybe the 155lb is just so there would be a rematch... Just a thought of mine.. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I just heard about that. I didn't think Floyd would do it since it sold under a million on ppv. A fight with Lara probably does worst numbers though. I wonder how the undercard is going to look for the Maidana fight.

Lara talks too much crap. He ain't crap, that's why he begged Canelo for a fight and not the other way around. Yes begged not confronted. Lara gets KO. WAR Canelo. Viva Mexico! Lara sucks, wearing a Puertorican t-shirt, I thought he was Cuban. And not Mark Cuban, hahahah
