              A lot of lineal champs thru the years, it's actually very common..

              Just look at the list of defenses for Hopkins, tsyzu, Chavez, oscar, Shane, Holyfield, Tyson, etc

              It's nothing new in boxing

                  Being a mandatory doesn't mean your a legit opponent.. McCormick was a mandatory and had no business being in with wlad, same for leapia, wach, etc

                    No, but ducking your mandatory can get you stripped in a lot of situations which can remove your "lineal" title

                    Maybe I should modify the original question with "When was the last time a Lineal champion fought back to back tune-up fights, with one being an unranked opponent in a lighter division than his belts"
