Gamboa was able to land and be successful in the early rounds due to his speed and footwork as well as his courage to kamikaze into Crawford while Mikey would most likely try to box, shooting off from a disadvantaging range. Activity is another issue I can see for Mikey seeing as he is a methodical boxer and tends to breakdown fighters with lesser skill than him but he might not be as successful against boxers with equal skill. Crawford on the other hand is skilled, patient and poised as well, has good power at 135 and can box on both stances. I think Crawford outpoints him in a tactical match up with slow action but tons of strategy and skill.

Fans will boo, some will doze off and others would hail it as one of the greatest "chess matches" of all time just to gain cookie points as boxing purists.
If the fight were to happen today Crawford would handle Mikey fairly easy. I've been a strong critic of Mikey but he'd have a good chance vs Crawford down the line. Mikey is only 26 and still very much in his prime, has devastating power in his right and fights very intelligent.
