Former four division champion Juan Manuel Marquez recently gave his take on the rise of two-time Olympic gold medal winner Vasyl Lomachenko (2-1, 1KO), who two weeks ago captured the vacant WBO featherweight championship with a twelve round majority decision over previously undefeated Gary Russell Jr. (24-1, 14KOs) at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Lomachenko capture his first world crown, in only his third pro fight, after suffering a split decision loss to Orlando Salido earlier this year.

Pretty insightful comments from the great JMM. Because of the strength and power difference Russell was reduced to just throwing fast pitty pat punches, the majority of which didn't even land.

As for Lomachenko it will be interesting to see him as he moves up in weight against bigger and more experienced opponents.

Rigo - Loma at 122. For rigo titles . Or rigo - Loma at 124 , catchweight and no tiles at the line . Or rigo - Loma at 126 but Loma can not weight more th an 10 pounds in fight night , for Lomas titles . Both scenarios : rigondeaux schools him . I also believe that ducknaire also beats him at 126 , since ducknaire will come at 140 or more and ducknaire has more power and will not get koed by Loma .
Loma is good but doesn't know how to fight going backwards and gets hit to much .... Rigo would box in circles and wouldn't stay flat footed , Loma knows this and that is why his team say no to a rigos fight already .
Take this fight Loma , both are 2 times world amateur champs , both are 2 times olimpics gold medalist , why not ? If you lose then you lose to a master , if you win , you will really make history . And remember that salido already beat you , so why not ? Remember that had rigo not defected , you would have faced him for gold medal in 2008 in the super batamweight division where you won gold but rigo was not there ...... Do it know .
