OK, my point is, he's a very very clever guy, and he's the goods, but he's not dynamic, and his mentality will get him hurt.

If he was a Floyd type fighter with his mentality and crazy fast twitch fibers I'd have more faith in him, but he doesn't.

He's not Floyd and he won't be undefeated. That's a totally unrealistic expectation for anybody. But you don't need to be to be a top fighter in your division.

But c'mon bro. You can just watch a fighter wait for him to lose 2 years later and then come back and say....SEE I TOLD YOU SO..EXPOSED. He has enough tools to beat all of the top fighters, win titles and be a terror in that division. If he goes 4-2 against Garcia, Matthysse, Provodnikov, Peterson, Broner and Postol, that's a damn good run.

He was buzzed by Gamboa, but wasn't seriously hurt. He'd beat Garcia, Algieri and Provodnikov.

Fair point, and I'm not gonna say I told you so. I'm just tempering expectations for the people that think he'll be the next Floyd or something.

Agree, going 4-2 against those guys would be great.

Crawford would beat Garcia comfortably. He has the athletic, skill, and style advantage. TBH, he'd probably be the rightful favorite over anyone at 140 right now. Matthysse and Provodnikov can be outboxed, Algieri is basic, Herrera probably isn't talented enough. Peterson could be rough.

Not saying Crawford is untouchable, but his style is a hard, hard matchup for pretty much all the top fighters at 140. Maybe I'm being a bit of a fanboy here, but I think Matthysse is the toughest fight for Crawford. Crawford probably isn't hurting Lucas, and he isn't an insane talent that could dance around Lucas for 12 rounds.

Why are you dudes so negative?? It was a good fight. The kid has shown good skills and poise. He was entertaining as well. If he boxes and defend well he can beat the Top Rank boxers at 140. I doubt he goes toe to toe with heavier handed and bigger boxers.

Matthysse, Peterson and Garcia would all be tough outings. Provo's punching power well be his biggest advantage.

It's not being a fanboy. I agree but its not because Matthysse is the killer of all killers but just the style clash. For example, Maidana is not a superior boxer to Canelo or Marquez but he gave Floyd way more problems than they did. I would pick Canelo to blast Maidana out of the water.

I'm kind of hesitant saying anything definitive about Lucas right now, because I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around him losing to Danny. I was so sure about that fight. I don't know how much of what I'm saying is still that mindset from before he lost to Garcia.

Lucas typically is at his best when he get get a full head of steam chasing someone, and Crawford doesn't seem the type to spoil and clinch every time Lucas got close. He fights inside. That's dangerous, dangerous, dangerous against Matthysse.

Man, that's a good fight. Another one that likely can't happen though.
