    Gamboa appreciation thread.

I pulled for Crawford but as stated in my other thread I wished the best for both guys and will continue to be a fan of both guys. That being said. Gamboa showed a lot of heart and still has what it takes to be a champion. (Granted, needs a better trainer).

So in appreciation of what Gamboa did last night and the heart he showed albeit stubborn and reckless. I salute you good sir and can't wait to see him back in the ring. Respect

Nothing but respect for Yuri, he is the man.

I said my piece in the other Gamboa thread:

It's sad watching your favourite fighter lose, but it was a performance that did nothing but showcase everything that makes me a Gamboa fan. He should fight smarter and he would be a better fighter, but he is what he is and I'm cool with that.

Gamboa is a class act in the ring. He fought his heart out and ended up getting too close to the light, but he did go down in blazing glory. TC was great but truly capitalized once YG was slowing down, full credit to both fighters for putting on a great showing. What I like most is that Gamboa fans aren't jumping ships or disappearing into the abyss after his loss and are giving full credit to TC, glad to see true fans of a fighter and not just hitchhikers on a bandwagon.

why does he need another trainer?

Gamboa is head strong and arrogant, what will a new trainer teach him that he doesn't already know? Hold your hands higher? Gamboa knows that, his father in his corner kept repeating it but he wouldn't listen. What makes you think he will listen to anyone else?

Heart seems to be a rare quality nowadays in boxing, glad to see others notice. Gamboa is an amazing fighter in every aspect except defense but he made up for it with movement. However I believe his inactivity in the ring depleted his stamina. I hope this loss lights up a fire in him that will cause him to return with a constant grind in the ring. I would also love for him to return to 130 and set up shop on that division, I think more activity and a lowerweight class will do wonders for Gamboa. He can still compete at 135 with anyone due to his skill and speed but 130 has some explosive match ups waiting in the wing. Anyway I really hope Gamboa comes back strong and hopefully he picks his activity up.

I have nothing but man love for Gamboa. The guy will forever get the Diego Corrales pass from me. He can lose all his next fights, and I'll still root for him like he's P4P #1.
