Comments Thread For: Top Rank Prez Has Mayweather Memories With Crawford

Top Rank President Todd duBoef was very impressed with Saturday's performance by Terence Crawford (24-0, 17KOs), who pulled off a major statement with a ninth round stoppage of Olympic gold medal winner Yuriorkis Gamboa. The Cuban boxer was dropped four times before the fight was waved off.

The bout took place in Crawford's hometown, at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, with nearly 11,000 fans in attendance to support the WBO lightweight champion's first defense.

I like Crawford and I think he could be poised to be a great fighter......IDK if I see Mayweather level of greatness though.

thats not was implied in the article. the guy implied reminded him when Floyd cared something more than money (ie pleasing the fans in front of his hometown)

Read the article guys, he's not comparing Crawford to Floyd as a fighter, just saying it reminds him of when Floyd sold the place out in Grand Rapids.

It is very rare for a fighter to fight as well in his opposite stance. It shows a very high level to me. I said before the fight that Crawford showed signs of being a fighter on the rise, there was no hype or BS with him, and he is starting to confirm it.

It is not just his fighting that impresses me, but his ring smarts, and his undeterred professionalism.
