Nah Crawford defense may have looked like he has a shotty defence but in fact the guy is a chameleon. He reads his foe and adapts to the situation i was worried from the begining because i could see him reading Gamboa slowly figuring him out and Gamboa falling for it.

Agreed. His temper is his best asset. The kid looks like he could be the goods!

The only thing crawford showed me is he can be hurt by a much smaller man

Gamboa's speed is why he was caught so often tonight. Let's not forget Gamboa is a natural 126lb fighter and an insanely fast one at that...Crawford won't see speed like that at 140. If a small Gamboa can wobble you though, how does he take a shot from a 140lb fighter? We'll see.

140 is brawlers or tall boxers yeah no speedy guys but Crawford has been tagged by lesser guys.

                .
Exactly. There is only one Gamboa and nobody from 135-140 possesses that hand speed.

This is why we have weight classes.

                  Gamboa was too small.

His defense is fine. It was more due to Gamboa being that good. I'd like to see Crawford fight Vasquez though. There is no way Arum puts Garcia in with him. He won't want to lose one of his big guys.

He was, but he wasn't afraid to take the challenge.

Fighters often look to preserve their records and take the most winnable fights, he's jumped divisions, went in with a bigger guy who is really good and went for it. He performed very well too, ultimately recklessness cost him, but even after being down he managed to wobble Crawford, then got reckless again going for the kill.
