  • Comments Thread For: Herrera: Danny Garcia Taking His Career Backwards

Mauricio Herrera was shaking his head after the upcoming opponent was announced for WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (28-0, 16KOs), who takes on little known Rod Salka (19-3, 3KOs) as the headliner on August 9th from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

In March, Garcia won a close and some felt controversial twelve round majority decision over Herrera (20-4, 7KOs). After the match, Garcia turned down Herrera's request for a rematch and said he was moving forward to a bigger opportunity.

You fight guys like Ron Salsa to boost your confidence after a defeat. Interpret that however you want to.

He ain't taking his career nowhere..the people with the money that handle danny don't believe in him...all thanks to you. Got technical boxers looking at Danny like chum in shark tank. Jab, jab, body punch, circle left..jab..jab..circle left and you've lost Danny. Take away the kids left hook and really ain't much to him.

That would be a sad thing to see. Floyd would make him look real bad. Still respect Danny bas a fighter but he lost his last fight and now his fighting a guy nobody knows about. A champion should never do something like that...
