De La Hoya once referred to Arum as being "... the most honest of all the crooks ...". I wouldn't go as far as calling Arum a crook but he is still a shrewd hard nosed businessman at 80 something and there is nothing wrong with that. As for those posters referring to Arum as senile or hoping for his death ... be careful, Karma is a b1tch.

please take notes of what Schaeffer, Mayweather and Haymon have done to divide boxing and not unite it
It's just recently he's been making good match-ups here and there and that is only because GBP, under Schaefer, have been crushing TR in terms of making compelling match-ups. Bob Arum is a crook and con artist

i literally thought 50 cent was involving himself with boxing for publicity. i'm sure that's aprt of his motivation, but now he's got a guy with a chance to get a huge win at 135.
Impressed with what? He bought out his contract for 1.5mil (or 1mil?) and has probably been feeding and housing him ever since. I'll also bet that he will give Arum co-promotional rights to gamboa should he win tonight

Just recently? The guy has been involved with some of the biggest fights and names in boxing history.... when you've been at something for 50+ years, there might be some down times and some crappy shows. the fact of the matter is that TR has never failed in producing top champions

Come on dude, don't play dumb. Of course he's made some of the biggest fights in boxing history as he's been around forever but what has he done in the last 5 years besides giving the fans, for the most part, crappy matchups and recycled bs like Pac vs JMM 5 and Pac v Bradley 2 and most likely 3 in the near future, and the list goes on.

Pac JMM 5 is one of the best fight to make in boxing. Did you buy 4, and if so, do you regret it?

I agree. Arum is a snake for sure as are the majority of the big league promoters but he does put his talent in against other talent. Bradley-Pac, Pac-JMM, Ruslan-Algieri, GRJ-Loma. On the other side you have Garcia and the tin-can man or Thurman against a Vietnam vet.
