Lara have to realize MW schooled Canelo. He would have to dominate Canelo in the same fashion or better to get the MW fight.

you never know, if he looks "too good", nearly unbeatable, no way in hell May would take the fight, if he looks okay and beatable, maybe...the same with Canelo, Canelo struggled against Trout, the guy that beat Cotto easily, if Canelo had totally destroyed the guy who beat Cotto easily do you think May would had took the Canelo fight? But we dont really know...lets just hope for the best fights and May - Lara would be freaking awesome, definatly the biggest challenge May would take in dozen of years, maybe even his hardest fight ever (on paper at least)Comment

This fight is very interesting. The best version of Alvarez that I've seen and the one that should have showed up vs Floyd made it to the Angulo fight. His shots were crisp, fluid and solid, great combos, didn't let up........Angulo seemed to be fighting under water.........sooooo slow.......which certainly helped.
But before that fight I would have said Lara beats him easily. Not so sure now. But if he does, I've felt for quite a while because of his build, that he's left-handed and does make adjustments, is very sharp in the ring.......I do think he's one of the very few real threats to Mayweather.......
But I doubt Floyd takes the fight. It's got two problems........he needs a blockbuster to followup the disappointing numbers for Maidana despite it being an exciting fight and Lara can't draw...........plus it's not a visually appealing fight.
I would pick Floyd...........but would give Lara a VERY GOOD chance.......I don't think he'll completely shut Canelo out though, provided we get the right Canelo this time, and that will give Floyd reason enough not to take the fight. I wouldn't take it either if I were him.........the risk vs reward doesn't add up at this point.
If Canelo can't make 154 anymore and this is the second fight in a row........anyone want to see him eaten by Golovkin?? I know I do!!
I hope Cotto can cash in on one more with Floyd as Mayweather has to seriously be considering winning the lineal MW title.........but Cotto could fight a mandatory next, then Floyd, another mandatory, then cash out with Canelo in a fight I think he has a very good shot at winning..........then walk before the roar of giving 'GGG' the shot at the 'real' MW title gets too loud. With Jacobs and Kid Chocolate in there, 'GGG' does have some good fights he can be taking in the mean time.
I don't want to see Cotto taking another beating. Two severe ones is quite enough..........and I actually like the guy now. But let's be real, with a 68" reach at 5'8, he's a 50's size MW at best.
But Canelo is a bigger guy though the height is basically the same. He's just built bigger and I think a fight with him and Golovkin would be fantastic!! And if it takes a couple years to happen, it will be boiling over by then.........provided both keep winning.
If Lara wins and doesn't get the shot at Floyd......then what? And someone correct me if I'm wrong but Canelo is beltless is he not? Floyd took them. And he was over the limit vs Angulo.........unless they are handing out titles for nothing.....
Anyway........if Lara wins then what? Is he ever going to 160?? Or is he content to try and catch all the money growing out of 147 over the next couple years?? Why isn't he talking about the MW title instead of picking a fight with a smaller fighter who happens to be the best in the world??
That comment will probably bite him if he's looking past Canelo.....but I doubt he is. He knows this is the most significant fight he's had yet and a real chance to get on radar outside boxing's inner-circle of experts and hardcore fans.......LOL. Sad but true.......
I think Lara is a douchebag. But so is Floyd and Canelo for that matter.......I guess I've disliked Lara longer.......and I want Canelo confident going to 160 so we can see him vs GGG!! He will get BEAT DOWN if that fight happens....
Why the hell can't someone get Andre Ward a fight?? There are plenty out there........I know the biggest money guys around the weight want little to do with him......but he is #2 fighter in the world by a very wide margin IMHO.....
Strange that the 'Prince Jr' or whatever his name is also happened to manage another future P4P #1..........Mayweather. Until he found Al and got it right.....

You guys need to learn to read. He's not overlooking anyone, he didn't say anything about Mayweather until the interviewer specifically asked him about it. The title of the article is taken out of context and mentions Mayweather to generate more traffic to the site. Lara was talking about canelo the whole time except for like the last sentence cuz he was specifically asked about Mayweather.Comment
