Comments Thread For: Hearn: Brook Wants To Beat The Best, He'll Beat Porter

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is confident IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15KOs) will go forward with his mandatory defense against Kell Brook (32-0, 22KOs).

There have been some stumbles, with an August 9th date falling through and a new date is now being worked on. Last year, Brook missed was scheduled to face then champion Devon Alexander on three separate dates. All three fell through due to injuries. Then Porter got a shot at Alexander and captured his title with an upset decision last December.

Eddie Hearn also thought Burns was going to ride the home crowd and doba job on Crawford. That fight wasn't even competitive. Shawn Porter got this.

This is not good for Brook. He had too many cancellations against Alexander and now the goal posts have started shifting against Porter. This is a sign he is getting into deeper waters than he can deal with. In as much as I don't like Brooks for fighting bums, his safety concerns me now that all these cancellations keep coming. He has fought bums all his life and he could end up getting seriously hurt when he faces the first fighter with a pulse. I think he might as well stick to bums.Better hated but living to tell the tale than getting damaged in the ring.

Porter/Brook is a 50/50 fight for me. I'm not sold on either of them, but it's always fascinating to see two up & comers go at it, especially in this day & age. Hope it happens so bad.

You're all ****ing on about that Stonehenge tooth whoopy **** Porter like he's the future of boxing, just because he beat Paulie Mallywallychops, the feather fisted Italian American cheeseburger.

Brook with smash Porters teeth all the way back to where ever he crawled out of, the useless fat brainless buck toothed BUM.

Don't like Kell Brook but It'd be funny to see him de-rail one of the biggest American prospects.
