Earl will be getting TKO'd within 3rds he just cannot trade with Katsidis especially not 3yrs after that punishment he received off Khan where he looked completely washed upComment

Given the brutality of their first fight, your post is kinda concerning to hear. Didn't ref Mickey Vann throw the towel back to Earl's corner and let it continue? My friend and I met Earl after the Burns-Katsidis fight, and he was punch drunk as anything. Very friendly chap and got a pic taken with him ringside. We even asked jokingly "When's the rematch gonna happen?", but we could tell that his days in a ring should be long over.
3 years later, and that rematch is actually happening. :conf3:
It made for drama, but i hope a towel doesn't go ignored this time.Comment

In a way it's good that Vann threw out the towel, because Kats himself got knocked down only seconds later. But then, if we're talking about a fighter's long-term health (in this case Earl), then Vann was indeed wrong to throw it out. I guess he genuinely thought Earl still had some fight left in him? All I can say is that those brutal rounds which followed made that fight my all-time favourite in boxing.
The post-fight interviews with both fighters said it all, though - Earl sounded like he didn't know where he was (his trainer pretty much had to speak for him), whereas Kats sounded chirpy and sharp despite the hellacious battering he'd also taken. If Kats stops him again, I just hope he does it quick. I'd hate to see another Magomed happen, especially all the way out there in Aus.Last edited by PittyPat; 06-26-2014, 08:31 PM.Comment
