    LOL. WAR ORTIIIIIZZZZ!!!!!

He just has an awkward sense of humor and personality. The interviewer set the stage though because she established a weird type of dynamic since the beginning.

I like Ortiz, I like the confidence. I'm still one of the few Ortiz fans around, I still still think he can make some noise if somehow it suddenly all clicks in his head. The question is when and if will it actually happen. I don't think he has the right mentality when it comes to boxing, he is too whatever and not as determined and focused as he should be.

Dude, why? Isnt there a line between confidence, arrogance and delusion? Arent arrogant and delusional people extremely unlikable? If the answers to the above questions are "yes", then how can anyone like this guy?

"One of the best of the era"
"Maybe I have lost my top 5 ranking, but Im still in the top 10"
"Im still one of the most feared guys around"
"Most of the guys in my weight division (147) are around 5ft 5 and I am 5ft 9; they have about 36" chests but I have a 42" chest" (LOL!)

All in around 3 minutes of a casual chat at a party.

I know it's a bit annoying but I like the arrogance / ****iness lol. It's entertaining to watch, specially when he uses it during fight camp; it sparks things up. I do understand your point though, the dude is in a fantasy of his own but I find amusing as opposed to irritating.

Now that the Cold War is over between GB and TR, how about we get Ortiz vs. Rios?

I hear you. Amusement is always preferable. But you know, I too like trash talk in fight build up, but this is him just chilling on a random weekend. In other words, he whole-heartedly believes this bull. It's very Broner-esque, at a time when I thought that only Broner had perfected the art of gleefully looking like a complete ass.

As for fighting Rios, why should the fans pay money to see this guy quit again? Quitting once is utterly distasteful in this classy, warrior sport of ours, yet Ortiz has pulled it on us twice (has any other boxer in history quit TWO times?). Rios wouldnt even be able to fathom the thought of quitting.

I got the impression he was just joking about being the best of his era.

Imagine if he never had boxing and was just a regular guy on job interviews.

Some people just can't get that social interaction thing down. Its like someone you know casually and every time you see them you just hope they don't see you so you don't get drawn into an uncomfortable discussion where you are just trying to find a way out and get as far away from this nitwit as possible.

I think the way she asked the question had a bit too do with it. He thought she should know who he was.
