Comments Thread For: Maidana’s Adviser: Who Would Say No to Pacquiao Fight?

Marcos Maidana’s strong performance against Floyd Mayweather in May has raised the Argentine action fighter’s profile among the elite names in the sport in lieu of an immediate rematch with the pound-for-pound king.

Maidana’s longtime adviser, Sebastian Contursi, told BoxingScene.com about one bout he wouldn’t mind, considering the potential thawing of the promotional “Cold War” between Golden Boy and Top Rank: Manny Pacquiao.

Maidana feels he can beat Floyd easier than he can beat Manny. That's a no-brainer.

That's a great fight and if Pacquiao has slipped at all, it's a very dangerous one for him.

If not, I can see him putting a beating on Marcos.

Either way, I'm down and love the idea.

Ofcourse Haymon will say No, look at Danny Garcia's opponent!

Unlike Mayweather, Pac is an offensive fighter, he will not wait around for Maidana to clobber him, he will attack and use angles and he will beat Maidane to the draw.

This would be a much tougher fight for Maidana. Manny is not staying in the pocket and on the ropes as much as Floyd did. However, no way does Roach or Arum let this happen. Even with talks of the cold war coming to an end, the only GBP fighter's name to be mentioned for Pacquiao is Danny Garcia. Not Thurman, Khan, Porter, or Maidana, but Danny Garcia. It is what it is.

Dangerous fight for Manny because he can't fight on the inside. And he doesn't have the legs he used to have. I could see both fighters winning by knock out.

At 147, Maidana weighing near 160, Pac will be on them ropes getting battered by the punches that couldn't hit Mayweather.

Thats a dream fight! Two warriors going at it, but pacs speed will be to much imo for chino .. i see it looking like margarito and rios, just a good ole beat down!!

But maidana will get his licks in, but as an offensive type fighter pac is just much better ,,,would be a great fight though!
