Comments Thread For: Maidana’s Adviser on Contract Status, Mayweather Talks

Marcos Maidana almost shocked the boxing world with a near-upset of Floyd Mayweather last month, and the Argentine’s longtime adviser is hoping for an immediate return bout with the now unified welterweight champion in September.

“I have to talk to (Mayweather’s adviser) Al Haymon this week and sit and discuss what’s ahead, if Floyd’s going to keep his word and give Maidana a rematch, but we haven’t discussed that yet,” Sebastian Contursi told BoxingScene.com.

Mayweather is ducking the rematch hard. Maidana had to go with Plan B and outboxed him since he couldn't use his power with sparring gloves. After the fight Mayweather was asking for rematch but he is scared again now.

Does Madaina even deserves another sweepstake?

Maidana's a good rugged fighter but why would Floyd give him another gigantic payday when all he did was cheat and foul, even with his corner's instructions.
Not to mention the disrespect after the fight. No way is he going to start kissing up to another hefty payday. Floyd's no fool. That's why he's in that position.

Surely chino doesn't have the slightest bit of trust in mayweathers word. The end of the day if mayweather was a man of his word chino would of never had the fight in the first place!!

He can wait till may. By then Lara is an appealing option after his triumphant Victory over Canelo Alvarez.

Brook is a Hypejob so when Porter beats him, he still doesn't earn a Mayweather fight. But the fact that he has a Belt gives Mayweather a reason to fight him.

Why May? Gonna have to be before or after because no way they do competition with Canelo/Cotto
