If he is really a middleweight champ then fight Golovkin. The idea that he is a 4 division champion is absurd. Cotto had never beaten a guy with a title till he beat Martinez, all of his previous title won on "vacant title" matches

Look, I like GGG equally with Cotto, but he has to develop his name and that's not Cotto's responsibility. Cotto is soon moving on with life after boxing, yet still wants the tough fights (he just fought Martinez and will fight Floyd or Canelo very soon), but at least tough fights that pay. Nothing wrong with that.

People are uninformed if they think Cotto v Bradley won't be VERY competitive (and very exciting). I actually would have it 52/48 favouring Bradley just based on being a fair bit faster in hand and feet and possibly the better boxer. Cotto has more power absolutely, but he's not hurting nor discouraging Bradley so that's sorta insignificant. He has more discipline and experience though and that will help a lot.
If this fight took place after Bradley beat JMM and after Cotto beat Delvin, fans would probably have this in Bradley's favour. So, maybe the timing of the fight is imperfect/off, but the competitiveness of this was always going to be what it is.

On the real, if cotto can't hurt bradley. He won't be able to out box him. As long as Tim doesn't get crazy and try to trade and uses angles I see him pulling out a 116-112 type of win.
Originally posted by Syf View PostDisagree with that.. Cotto has become accustomed to fighting at Jr Mw and even mw... Bradley would be moving up.. He's already light hitting at ww.. He won't even have pop to keep guys honest at Jr mw... it's a bad move all around.

They are both the same size, cottos an inch taller and bradley has a two inch reach advantage. I think its a joke that it would be for a middleweight title. But thats on Cotto. Its not like he was gonna actually face a true Middleweight IMO anyways.
I think this is a great action packed fight to be made at the highest level of the sport.
