  • Comments Thread For: Golden Boy/Haymon Union Remains Strong, Will Continue

By Rick Reeno - Since the start of the month, Golden Boy Promotions has undergone a variety of major changes. Longtime company CEO Richard Schaefer left the company on June 2nd, company COO and CMO Bruce Binkow departed on June 13th, there were other staffing changes – and, company President and majority shareholder Oscar De La Hoya took over Golden Boy’s day to day operations.

Immediately following Schaefer’s departure, the industry focus quickly shifted to Golden Boy’s relationship with powerful manager and adviser Al Haymon.

Even prior to Schaefer’s departure, there were widespread rumors that Schaefer was leaving Golden to align himself with a brand new promotional entity – and that Haymon’s fighters would follow Schaefer to that company.

The vast majority of Haymon’s voluminous stable is being promoted under Golden Boy’s banner. Some of those fighters have promotional agreements with Golden Boy and some of them are not under contract. [Click Here To Read More]

Oscar is doing his part to end the Cold War. Now let's see if Arum does his part and starts making matches with Haymon fighters.

Doe, Arum doesn't have to do anything. All Haymon has to do is make his fighters fight each other, not feed them with Karass, Molina 1 and 2, Judah, Malignaggi, Diaz, Kamegai, Kawasaki...

Oscar is making the effort to work with others. He can't be the only one doing it if boxing is going to get fixed.

Doe, you seem very slow. You don't need Arum or anybody to make your fighters fight each other. That's serious interference of someone's business. Arum is doing his part. Provo lost to Bradley. He then fought titleholder Alvarado, not a nobody. Alvarado lost, he then fought veteran Marquez, not a nobody. Unlike Haymon fighters. Get it now?

Did Al go to Bob's house and eat chicken too? If not, don't bother.
