Comments Thread For: Yaegashi-Gonzalez, Inoue-Kokietgym Double Set For 9/5

Months worth of speculation finally became a reality for the flyweight division, as lineal champ Akira Yaegashi is set to make the fourth defense of his crown versus unbeaten former two-division champ Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez.

The bout will take place September 5 in Tokyo, Japan. Also on the card, 21-year old wunderkind Naoya Inoue makes the first defense of his 108 lb. title versus Thailand's Samartlek Kokietgym. [Click Here To Read More]

Great ! I think Chocolatito should be the clear favorite in this fight, but should be a good one. I hope the winner will fight the winner of Estrada vs Segura (is it still scheduled ?).

I've been patiently waiting for Yaegashi and Gonzalez to square off. That's a big fight. The winner of Estrada/Segura can face the winner of this matchup to decide the king of the Flyweight division. I'm really hoping to see an Estrada/ Gonzalez rematch. I think it could be even better than the first fight.

I can't overlook the Inoue/Kokietgym matchup either. That's another good fight between two undefeated fighters.

The lower weight classes may be overlooked by some but the fighters usually face each other and produce really exciting fights.

No, he's not. I thought he was facing a different Kokietgym.

Paipharob Kokietgym? Yeah he'd have made a great opponent, would have loved to have seen Inoue fight Jonathan Taconing as well, ah well.
