Comments Thread For: Matchroom To Launch 'Fight Pass' Streaming Service

Matchroom Boxing’s new Fight Pass service, which will provide at least ten boxing shows a year streamed online, could have its first date on August 30, followed by a second show on September 12 with venues and fights to be confirmed.

With an announcement to be made at a Matchroom media day in a fortnight, promoter Eddie Hearn told BoxingScene.com that not only would fans get non-televised shows as part of their annual subscription but also access to their old library of fights and a priority purchasing service to all Matchroom shows for subscribers to this new service.

“We’ll also announce that we’re working with two, probably three promoters in partnership,” he added.

    10 a year?

Don't overdo it, Matchroom. I mean, getting regular boxing streams online might *shudder* help the sport. You don't want that! Just to siphon money out of the fans.

This is great news. I'm most excited about being able to purchase tickets to the big shows before the casuals sell them out.

Go-fight is doing this but at least it airs their bouts delayed on cable. More profitable and serves as free advertising(hint hint).

will it stream PPV events too? If they decide to have more PPVs that is, I love the current Sky set up tbh. Also, fights showing on skysports, do they get shown on the stream?

            No chance.

It's purely for his untelevised, small hall shows.
