Comments Thread For: Dawson Says Mistakes in The Past, Wants Stevenson

Former champion Chad Dawson (32-3, 18KOs) is ready to get right back in the mix of the light heavyweight division. On Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, Dawson returned after a one-year layoff and knocked out George Blades in one round.

Dawson regrets making the decision to squeeze down in weight to face Andre Ward at super middleweight, which resulted in Dawson getting stopped in the tenth round. Nine months later he traveled over to Canada to face Adonis Stevenson on his home soil, and suffered a first round TKO defeat.

I'm glad he said he wants Stevenson. I've never heard of him saying that before. Dawson needs a few more fights and then they can rematch.

Make 175 first then beat a decent guy or two or even less than that like Tavoris Cloud.

Shuemenov with no trainer would be a good choice for him

That makes no sense, what does him traveling to defend his title have anything to do with the fact that he got dropped by 1 punch in the first round?

He should bulk up and fight at CW. He could make noise.

Dawson has a long way to climb back up. He can't just get Stevenson again. He has to beat at least three more opponents before getting a shot at any title.

Boxnation commentators mentioned Shumenov last night. Said he moved up.
