(Weird thread title I know) I was just thinking about the contrast between how Russell was brought up (23 no names and then a beast) and Loma (literally thrown to the wolves from the start). Which fighters do you think where brought up by their promoters correctly to maximize their ability and potential so they were ready when it came time to take on tough fighters.
I lean towards Oscar. I think he was brought up with exposure, carefully placed with tougher and tougher competition until he was experienced enough and popular enough to face off with anyone (and have more than a chance to win) and make money.
