  • Loma v Salido II anyone?

Why not? I think Loma has learnt a few tricks and I'm sure he wants revenge on a guy who "out pro-d" him. I for one would love to see it, then possibly a Russell rematch and then on to Simpiwetye or whatever his name is lol

That should see him through to next year and really make him stand out.

Lomo won the first fight, and he out landed solido. Evidently low blows count as head shots in america.

Worse robbery since khan lemont peterson.

I'd rather Loma fight other featherweights. He'd still have a hard time dealing with how big and rough Salido is, and the risk isn't worth it.

Loma can't defend his title against Salido, Salido's not gonna make 126 again. Donaire's fighting Walters, so putting him on that Macau undercard against either Gradovich or possibly Sonsona would be the most likely.

Can't make weight. I wouldn't mind Mares though if he can get back on track.

Yes, I want this remach but no now. Salido can't make 126 and Loma have good fighters there to fight. In my opinion Vasyl need to do 3 fights to make experience, boxers like Jesus Cuellar, Celestino Caballero, Evgeny Gradovich, Rocky Juarez, Jhonny Gonzalez. Then a mega fight against Donaire and Mares. And then yes go up to 130 and fight Salido, Mikey Garcia, Yuri Gamboa

He'd have to move up a division though which wouldn't be a good idea. Salido was poorly trained for that fight and looked pretty atrocious I thought. I don't think he took it entirely seriously and it showed in his performance. It was lucky that Loma wasn't more experienced, because Salido gassed, didn't have his usual consistently or work rate and put in one of the worst 'big fight' performances of his career.

Salido is also well past his best at this stage, and with Loma now getting better, it's very possible he'd win now. However, now that he's a 'world champ' Salido might take the fight more seriously, and being fought at a higher division, might not get so gassed. Loma clearly still has that amateur flaw of closing up when someone attacks him, and we might just see a repeat of the first fight. Nonetheless, it would be a fascinating go. Mainly because Salido is past it, which gives Loma a better chance as we saw in the first fight, and if Loma can be a little more consistent in his attack then we might see him win just on his youth and Salidos age. It's very possible at this stage, because Salido did not look good last time out.

                  Slim: you're such a ******.

Despite both guys fouling, and neither getting reprimanded, you still have to actually win the rounds with offense and that's what Salido did. He won enough early that the decision was never in doubt on the cards. It wasn't hard to score at all, and was a clear decision. I guess nothing is clear with a 'special' brain like yours though.

Yeah, now that he has a title, there are a lot of good fights at 126 for him. Personally, I think he still needs a little more polish. A few basic defenses against some semi high ranked fighters would do him the world of good. He just needs to iron out some of the amateur fighter that's still present in him.

Build on his offensive consistency. He's got the stamina, he just needs to work out building his offensive rhythm and keeping his attack consistent.

Also he needs to work on his transition between offense and defense. This is still the most amateurish part of his game. When he gets attacked, he just does the classic amateur thing of either running away or closing up completely until it finishes. He's got to start using his footwork and defense to use an attack on him to his advantage.

By fighting guys that present some trouble, but not too much, he can work out these problems and gain some much needed experience before getting into the top guys in a couple of years.

It's all there. He just needs to put it all together, and maybe get a pro game coach.
